1. Bullies are everywhere
2. Humans are driven to belittle whoever they see as the “other”
3. There were no “good old days” — it’s always sucked
4. Hormones make things really hard for women
5. Life is better with companion animals
6. There is something wonderful wherever you are
7. Politicians are not to be trusted
8. You don’t really know anyone else
9. Everyone is interesting
10. Peace may not be attainable, but it’s a worthy goal
