Birds April 2026

Here are the birds observed at the Hermits’ Rest in April 2026. They were either identified by Merlin Bird ID or by sight. I was out of town on two camping trips and a visit to Oregon for work, but plenty of birds showed up. There were days I identified more than seventy birds that’s hard to believe!). Two new birds were the Willet, which must have been migrating, and a peacock. I didn’t think Merlin would recognize those, being non-native. A neighbor must have some.

Sure, we’re all over central Texas. We just hide, which is pretty hard to do.
