We’ve seen a surprising number of the mammals that live in Texas on our ranch! And, by the way, we also have cattle, horses, a donkey, dogs, and chickens. The list below are the non-domesticated ones, and this is not all of them. When I write a blog post about something, I’ll link to it from here.
- Armadillo, Banded (lives over by where the creek and fence intersect, judging by digging evidence)
- Bats (probably Mexican free-tail)
- Bobcat
- Mountain lion (or something huge, with a tail) (most recently, November 25, 2018, sighted by Christi)
- Cottontail rabbit (11/25/18)
- Coyote
- Deer, White-tailed
- Hog, feral
- Jackrabbit (twice!)
- Mouse, field
- Opossum (marsupial)
- Otter, River (3 times!)
- Raccoon
- Rat
- Skunk, Two Striped (dog encounter, May 1, 2018)
- Squirrel (not that many)
