I’ve really been enjoying the weather and the fall foliage the past week or two. It got all windy in Austin and leaves were swirling like they did back in Illinois when I lived there.

Here at the ranch the cedar elms are the ones that provide color. It’s not bright, but the trees have many shades going from orange to russet brown.

There’s one tree with yellow foliage. I’m thinking it’s a mesquite. I didn’t look too hard. It must be something else.

And the sunsets just keep on coming. I’m so glad to be able to get out and enjoy the seasons. It was a hard day for one group I’m in.

Look at this
I got a happy surprise on my dog walk today. I saw something shiny and realized our stream has water in it! The pond is not full, but I guess it’s rained enough to get the springs flowing. Good news.

But wait, there’s more
You may remember me saying that one name for it part of the county is Silver City. There used to be a store at the corner of our road and FM 485. By the time we moved here, all that remained was a faded sign. Still, it was a convenient landmark to help people find our road.

Not too long ago, the sign fell down in a storm. I was sad. But, as you can see, some wonderful person or persons put the sign back! We now know where to tell people to turn again!
