We’re still in Florida after spending three days in greater Orlando. Monday we endured sales presentations, then stayed at the resort the rest of the day in a stupor. We got out and did a few things yesterday, though (Lee stayed at the condo and worked).
Anita and I did our traditional vacation pedicure at a random local place that seemed to have been there a long time. They had great new massage chairs and nice staff/clientele. A great start to a day!

Then, to continue with girly stuff, we visited the nearby outlet mall, and was struck again at how similar suburban institutions are around the US. We could have been anywhere, except for palm trees and signs in Chinese (that was new!).
It’s nice to have a friend like Anita who will do random relaxation things with you! Glad she’s my travel buddy!

We had to get in more time at the “quiet pool” having tropical drinks, which we’d also done Monday. We had shade, pool, hot tub, and a nice server. Ahh. Even Lee had fun and swam!
Highlight of the Trip!
Finally, it was time for the reason we’d decided to go to Orlando instead of some other place! We got to have dinner with our friends Gail and Jana, who we’d last seen at our high school reunion in 2016. We’d vowed to see each other more often.

We picked a random nearby restaurant (Google to the rescue again). It turned out to be ideal, because no one else was in the outdoor part, and our server turned the music off, so we could hear each other!

The restaurant, Sea Dog Pub, had reasonable food (my risotto was fabulous) and we enjoyed great conversation. It’s just so great to keep up with people you’ve known so long, to see how their lives have taken shape, and see how we still have things in common.
I highly recommend hanging out with old friends to help you see who you were and appreciate who you’ve become!

Of course we didn’t get to see everybody we wanted to on this trip. I don’t think any of us realized how much we needed to just zonk. But to my friends Lynn, Chris, Debbie, and Kelly, we will return.
Next: a pilgrimage.
