First, thanks for all the kind thoughts yesterday. And those virtual hugs. Y’all are the best friends and readers.
Today let’s move on to something that not only cheers me up, but it makes a certain pair of weenie dogs (Vlassic and Pickle) very happy each month: the BarkBox shipment!
I’ve been getting these for a while now, and each month Anita and I are charmed by the effort this company goes through to make a quality product that is fun for both people and dogs (a very good marketing strategy).
For example, this month’s box that just arrived has a spy theme, where squirrels (always the dogs’ arch-enemies in the boxes) from the Nationwide Underground Troublesome Squirrels (N.U.T.S.) agency are spying on dog agency (Department of Good Spies or D.O.G.S) activities, and vice versa.
Now, every month I get a selection of toys suited to my dog, so they are the ones that are less easily destructible and have lots of crinkly stuff on them. This month I got Agent Tailwind, a one-eyed squirrel, the Totally Normal Van (which contains snoozing spy squirrels), and Agent Treecrawler, who has exciting suction cups that won’t last long. There are others that I could buy if I wanted to (another great marketing technique).
There is also a food chewy and some thematic snacks. This month I got “The Yam wit the Golden Yum” snacks abd “On Her Lambesty’s Secret Salmon” treats. You can figure out what they are made of. They’re “secretly delicious.” They are wheat, corn, and soy free, too. Most of the ones they aend are nice and small, so good for Pickle’s dainty waistline.
For the humans, there is a dossier with all sorts of cutouts you can use to dress your dog like a spy for photos, and other fun activities. Some of the games they come up with are really cute. Kids would also like them.
So, if you know someone with a dog who’d like a monthly gift, consider a BarkbBox subscription. They come in different sizes and configurations, so you can tailor the cost and content. If you’d like just a taste of their products, or want to order high quality treats and food, you can go to Chewy.com, the parent company.
PS: Nobody paid me for this. Just wanted to share my fun.
