Birds August 2025

Here are the birds observed at the Hermits’ Rest in August 2025. Fall migration started a little early, which helped us get 90 species this month. I really got to see some songbirds that usually hide, like the Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher and Common Yellowthroat. New birds included a couple of dubious ones, a Greylag Goose and a Caspian Tern, but hey, migration. There was also a beautiful Sharp-shinned Hawk and Pied-billed Grebe, which I doubted at first, but heard twice.
